BALGOWNIE Public School students were dressed in their finest this week as they sipped on orange juice and nibbled at pink cupcakes to promote Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.

The Year 6 student representative council pupils raided their mothers' and grandmothers' wardrobes to find pearls, leather gloves and dresses for the special occasion.

Balgownie Public will hold its first all-school morning tea next week, with 320 students expected to attend.

Students will make a gold coin donation for the NSW Cancer Council.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is officially next Thursday, May 24.

More than 1500 people on the South Coast are expected to help raise at least $340,000 at events throughout May.
